//ICT are currently trying to round up all staff laptops to encrypt them. This has been driven by the recent large ‘fines’ by the Information Commissioner when organisations have had laptops lost or stolen.
The encryption is pain free but does take a couple of days because of the need to check the disks (new laptops are much faster).
Many laptops have already been done – if yours hasn’t please get in touch with the ICT Service Desk (helpdesk@lincoln.ac.uk or x6569).
